I'm a bit rattled. Our LEA who I've always got on with in the past (4 years) are 'suggesting' that I keep a dairy and apparently we need to do more formal/structured work. They are also coming back in September to 'see how we're getting on'.... I'm not happy about it at all. I feel they are flexing muscles and tbh I feel like I'm somewhere between a rock and hard place.

Well, as it stands at the moment all they *can* do is suggest,and you can choose to follow their suggestion or not. How are they going to know whether you've done more structured stuff or not? or you could tough it out and stick to your guns and tell them that there is no one way to educate kids and that you are doing it the way that suits your family best.
ReplyDeleteThey are 'strongly' suggesting more structure/formal education and a daily diary. If I carry on as we are they won't be happy because they are'nt now but then I don't see why I should jump through hoops to please them when we (home educators) get zero help from the LEA. *grumble*
